Once again demonstrating why we value professionals over amateurs, the Wall Street Journal has, today, published an editorial by Gregg Opelka, a lyricist and composer for musical theater, who makes very much the same argument as I did some months ago.

Sadly, said article is behind their paywall and my usual trick doesn’t do anything for me*. Chalk one up for the barely-competent amateur. At least our price is commensurate with our talent.

Unlike Opelka, he names names in the form of a list; a list that does not include Kid Rock. His leading horse is Ron DeSantis, governor of Florida for the last few years. He floats the names of Nikki Haley, Kristi Noem, and Mike Pompeo as backups.
